A calm, organised master bedroom in Kokapet with floor-to-ceiling sliding wardrobes, integrated lighting and a compact dressing unit. The owner wanted generous wardrobe storage and a quiet, uncluttered space that supported their daily routine.
The Brief
Anita Reddy wanted generous wardrobe storage and a quiet, uncluttered master bedroom that supported her daily routine. The challenge: the room had limited clear floor area, so storage had to be planned smartly without eating into the space you move through.
The Solution
- Sliding doors instead of hinged wardrobes saving valuable space at the entrance while still providing hanging space, shelves, drawers and loft storage.
- A compact dressing unit with mirror, lighting and small drawers, integrated neatly beside the wardrobe.
- Layered lighting warm ambient ceiling lights, bedside reading lights and accent lighting along the headboard wall.
- A warm-neutral palette with a subtle feature wall to keep the space calm and restful.
Design Approach
We started with how the room is used each day dressing, resting and reading then planned storage and lighting around those routines. Sliding doors kept the room feeling open, while each layer of lighting was chosen for a specific time of day: relaxing in the evening, bright enough in the morning.
The Result
A master bedroom that feels calm and organised with more than enough storage, a neat dressing corner and lighting that suits both mornings and evenings.
